🎨How I Create Symmetrical, natural-looking Lips💋

When it comes to lip blush, mapping is EVERYTHING! It’s the step that ensures every set of lips I work on looks balanced, symmetrical, and perfectly enhanced. Here’s exactly how I do it—and how I teach my students to get it right every time:

✨ 1. Prep the Lips
Cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate! Smooth lips are key to precision.

✨ 2. Observe the Shape
Study the client’s natural lips. Identify asymmetries or areas to enhance.

✨ 3. Start with the Cupid’s Bow
Mark the two peaks and connect them with a soft, natural curve. This step defines the overall balance!

✨ 4. Outline the Lip Border
Trace the vermillion border with a fine pencil, staying within 1-2 mm of the natural line (unless they want a fuller look!).

✨ 5. Symmetry Check
Use tools like calipers or mapping string to ensure both sides match perfectly. Double-check with the client smiling and relaxed!

✨ 6. Final Approval
Show the client the mapping and adjust based on their feedback. Once they’re happy, it’s time to start the magic!

Looking so natural and just perfect! 😍 client had her brows done by another artist years ago. Unfortunately her brows turned red😱. Do you know why this happened to her brows?

✨Pigment Composition: Many older microblading pigments contained high levels of iron oxide. Over time, as the pigment fades, the cooler tones (like black or brown) break down faster, leaving the warmer red or orange tones behind.

✨Skin’s Natural Undertone: The undertone of your skin can affect how pigments appear over time. In some cases, warm undertones in the skin can amplify the red hues in the fading pigment. That’s why when I get to do your brows I always check your veins to be able to see wether your skin tone is cool, warm or neutral.

✨Improper Pigment Selection: Using pigments that are not balanced for your skin tone or mixing colors incorrectly can lead to undesired fading results.

✨Ink Oxidation: Oxidation occurs when the pigment reacts with oxygen over time, changing its color. Iron oxide pigments are especially prone to this process, which often results in reddish tones.

To correct red brows I can perform a color correction using neutralizing pigments to balance the redness.

How can you (as an artist) prevent or correct red Fading? Use high-quality pigments suited to the client’s skin tone and undertone. Neutralize warmer undertones with cooler pigments if necessary.

“Morning routines just got so much easier! ✨🙌🏼🩵 But if you’re thinking about covering up old permanent makeup or microblading done by another artist, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Not all microblading styles or pigments are the same, and it’s hard to know exactly what color your previous artist used. That’s why a thorough evaluation of your existing work is key!

I’d love to take on everyone, but when it comes to correcting or covering microblading from another artist, there are a few key things I always check:

✨ How faded is the color?
Fading is essential. If the pigment is still too dark or fresh, it can affect how new pigment shows up and blends in. The more faded it is, the better I can create a new, seamless look.

✨ Has the pigment changed color?
Sometimes, pigments shift over time and can turn blue, red, or grey due to skin type, sun exposure, or the depth of the original work. If this has happened, it may require extra color correction before I can start the new design.

✨ How deep was the original work done?
If the original artist went too deep into the skin, the pigment may have settled in a way that’s hard to work over. This can also lead to scarring, which affects how new strokes or shading will look.

✨ Are the original hairstrokes still visible?
The visibility of the old hairstrokes matters because if they’re still clear, we can sometimes go over them. If not, it may require a completely different technique to get the best results.
